Seasonal reading salons:
Every quarter-ish (sometimes every 3 months, sometimes every 4 months), we have a broad theme and a few recommended titles to get you started. You’re welcome to read any titles that fall into that theme (any genre) over the coming months. We’ll meet for a free-style book discussion, where anything goes, as long as you can link it briefly to the theme.
Past seasonal salons
Summer 2025: The Summer of Self-Help
Cooks & Books (Without Borders!)
A new, experimental format. We choose a cook book (or a book that has recipes – it might be a memoir, a novel, or an historical book), and cook a selection of recipes from the book. We come together to try the food, to talk and to simply enjoy being in the company of fellow readers. Expand your horizons and try some new food, too!

Join the book club
There is no fee to join the book club. If you’d like to be notified of future book club dates, add your details below. I try to send out a monthly-ish update of what’s coming up, previous book club discussions and, if I have time, a bit of reading inspiration.
No spam. (Honestly, who has the time to spam people about a book club?!)
More information
The Innsbruck Reads Book Club is a friendly, bi-lingual (English-German) book club group based in the heart of the Alps, in beautiful Innsbruck. We try to choose books that are available in DE & EN, and you are welcome to read in whatever language you like.
Discussions typically take place in either English or German, and often, a bit of a mix of the two.
We currently have about +-90 members on our list, but the number of people who turn up to each book club meeting varies from 6-20.
You are welcome to join us and come as often as you like. Whatever your age, gender, cultural background, or beliefs, if you love books and are open to discussions about what we read, then you are WELCOME!
Feeling a bit shy? You are also welcome to “lurk” on the list and enjoy occasional updates and recommendations, and join us when you’re having a good day, too!
Behind the book club

The book club is run by me, Suzanne Whitby. If you want to get in touch, feel free to send a note to me at hi@suzannewhiby.com.
